US Justice to take further legal actions in FIFA scandal

TEHRAN, Sep. 15 (MNA) – The US Justice provides more legal action against new people and organizations within the framework of the investigation to the International Football Federation (FIFA), said US Attorney General Loretta Lynch.

From the Swiss city of Zurich, the prosecutor confirmed that the course of its investigation has no limit. "Our investigation is still active and in course, and indeed it expanded since May. With new evidence, we anticipate filing additional charges against individuals and entities," he said.

For his part, the Attorney General of Switzerland, Michael Lauber, said his office confiscated properties in the Swiss Alps in relation to their research, specifically on the process of awarding the prizes for the winners of the World Championships in 2018 and 2022.

Without offering names, Lauber gave details of the work of researchers, especially records in several homes and the seizure of numerous financial assets.

These real estate investments can have the purpose of money laundering, he said, while he mentioned 121 bank accounts with suspicious movements, reported by Swiss banks.

United States accused nine leaders and five football sports marketing executives of orchestrating a multimillion bribes plan during 24 years.
